In order to reverse the trend of biodiversity loss and contribute to improving agricultural production in pilot fields, our project investigates the implementation of techniques for the protection of natural regeneration in rainfed crop fields. We do so by identification of volunteer farmers, supervision in the field of natural regeneration, training and implementation of innovative solutions with a focus on effecient water management. The Issoufou Mahamadou Foundation (FIM) is implementing the "Carbon Sink" project in the Dandadji area (urban commune of Illéla). This project focuses on the restoration and enhancement of degraded ecosystems through the development a site of about 5000 hectares. It is part of a logic of sustainable management of natural resources and empowerment of populations. The aim is to maximize the benefits from integrated management that links agriculture, forestry and agroforestry.
