CREACC-NG works in remote areas of Northern Nigeria to help farmers adapt to climate change. Villages in Northern Nigeria have been disappearing due to desert encroaching southward; they experience vulnerable conditions such as food insecurity, loss of livelihood, and an increase in multidimensional poverty. Tree growers and agronomists still find it difficult to protect their plantations from encroachment either by animals or humans; theft and frequent movements of animals make afforestation projects difficult or impossible, also, the type of plant and soil that are compatible is also a problem.
